Bansko is the newest ski resort, located at an altitude of 925 m between the Pirin, Rila and Rodopi mountains, nestled in the shadow of the snow-capped Vihren – 2914 m, the highest peak of the Pirin. Bansko has 75 km of marked slopes with 14 lifts and the longest slope is 4.8 km long. The town also offers a unique 16 km long track with an elevation gain of 1600 m. The ski season in Bansko lasts from December to April. The charming historic town attracts visitors with its 120 cultural monuments, museums and permanent ethnographic exhibitions.
